Question:
I'm 4 months out and i was wondering
I was wondering how much fat calories we should consume in one day. for instance I'll eat a lean hamberger patty for lunch thats 4oz, 22 grams of protein and 8 grams per 4 oz how much is too much because I eat alot of meat. other meats have about the same which means I'm probally consumming about 24 grams or more of fat in one day. what should I change? — jennifer O. I don't know what YOU should be eating.. but I can tell you what I try to
do... for my whole day.. and not necessarily for each thing that I put into
my mouth... I try to keep it under three grams of fat for every 100
calories I eat... that way.. I can eat something really high in fat if I
want.. but I have to eat other things low in fat to compensate...

You should not exceed 30% of your calories in fat on a daily basis. If
you are getting in 24g of fat a day, that is 216 calories per day being
taken in by fat. If you are getting in at least 700 calories in a day,
the amount of fat is not excessive.
<p>
The only thing with going with some low-fat foods (not meats) is that the
manufacturers add sugar to compensate for the lack of fat in the food.
This is especially true of things like baked goods....JR
