Question:
Has anyone tried GeniSoy (from GNC)?
I have been comparing products (primarily Real Meals and GeniSoy) and I see by the nutrition facts that the SeniSoy has 100 cal, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 25mg of protein per 1 scoop. It can be used in baking, mixed in 8oz of virtually anything etc. Is there a real difference between soy and whey protein supplements? The 0 fat and carbs and only 100 cals. of GeniSoy have peaked my interest. — Joanne M. (posted on December 27, 2002)

i'm no expert, but from what i have read and tired myself, i find soy
gross. both whey, egg and soy are protien and your body will absorb them
about the same way ( providing they contain the enzeyems and peptides) but
soy has a texture that issort of fibor-like and whey is smoother. soy also
contains some natrual vitamens that are great for women, however i do not
like the way it tates, even camaflogeing in stuff, it is just not as
palitable to me. to each their own? keep in mind many of hte proiten drinks
are made for body builders so they have a lot of fat, sugar and calories
because for them, that is not a problem. got to read the lables! good thing
about GNC if you buy it and hate it they will take it back! so oyu can not
loose on that one! good luck, rememebr by themselves none are very goods,
but add to them and they get pretty good! a pinch of instant coffee and
suddenly you have a mocha or latte' some instand dry non fat milk, makes it
higher in protein and taste better, add a few frozen fruit pieces to
blensder, you have a yummy drink! try adding flavors, extracts to altrer
the taste too! good luck!!!!

hiya! i've tried the genisoy in my coffee and it didn't mix well, made my
coffee like oatmeal but i haven't tried it in cooking. i use a similar
product: Jarrow's Iso Rich Soy Protein powder, similar make up, same
nutritional values but it blends into my coffee much much better and has
only a slightly chalky "taste" to it. i use it in most of my
baking and almost all dinners. i get mine online at:
http://www.vitamintrader.com
you can check out recipes that incorporate the jarrows on my website:

good luck!

I tried Genisoy because it was recommended by my dietician as a protein
drink that doesn't have much flavor and more people are able to drink it.
I never found a drink that I could tolerate, but Genisoy tasted the best of
all of them. No vitamin taste.
