Question:
12 days POST OP ....Is this normal?
I'm getting better, each day I improve, but I am soooo tired of either having to lay down and stand up straight. When I sit in an upright position my stomach hurts, is it because all my insides are mushed together? I just have this sharp pain on the left side were the 2 incisions were made. — Karen W. Karen - You have to realize that you've just undergone major stomach
surgery. Even though you only have a few puncture marks, you insides were
rearranged which will make the muscles very sore for awhile. If after a
month, you still feel sore, then see your doctor. Also, sometimes the pain
that you may feel on your left side could also be caused by the air that
they fill your insides with in order to get a better visual with. It could
be trapped air, but if it has not gone away in a few weeks, I'd again
contact your doctor, especially if you start getting a fever. (08/28/01

I had an open RNY on 7/2/02. I went back to work 8 days later... but... I
sit at a desk all say AND I went back part time. I would get tired FAST
and ALOT for the first 3 weeks postop. My doctor has us on a liquid diet
for the 1st 3 weeks... and I was getting less than 10 carbs per day from
that - hence NO energy! As soon as you are eating real foods again, you
will be tired less often.
