Question:
Can I have novacaine and nitrous oxide as a post op

I am having a problem with a tooth and I have a feeling that I will have to visit the doctor in the near future. I have always had a shot of novacaine and nitrous oxide for the pain and to calm my nerves. Can I still have both as a post op? Thanks    — tracyr (posted on September 6, 2002)

hiya i don't see why not...i haven't had any nitrous oxide but i've had novacaine and pain killers - had a root canal and then got braces so....i did fine with it. good luck kate open rny 6-14-01 pre op: 268lbs goal: 135lbs current: 130lbs

You can ask the doc, but in general, if you tolerated it before, you will after. They have nothing to do with your altered gut. I've done both.
