Question:
Waiting for surgery?

I was told by my WLS surgeon since I had female laprascopic surgery (for endometreosis)a month ago I would have to wait at least 6 months for RNY. Could this be possible? Needless to say I was shocked and upset. He even said all my test would have to be redone, since they will be to old at that point? No one advised me not to have the female surgery so close to WLS. Let me add I had no surgery date yet, and didnt expect to have a date pending approval.    — lesleeloo (posted on June 22, 2002)

Hi Leslie. This is a toughy. Really the only thing I can think of for you to do is to see another surgeon. I know at my surgeon's office, there is a wonderful nurse who will and does answer any questions (including those that you would think the surgeon would have to tell but she is oh-so-wise). If I talk with her in the next couple of days, I will ask her what she thinks. Try to keep your chin up, Sweetie! At least it wasn't a permanent door slammed shut, just another waiting period...*s*
