Question:
I need advice in what meds. I can take for pain immediately pre-op.
My knee didn't make it to my surgery scheduled for 2/22/02. BTC says I can no longer take nsaids or aspirin drugs after Feb. 1. I now walk with a cane and have missed work due to pain. Two cortizone shots didn't help. I'm worried that I will not make it to surgery. Don't Vioxx and Celebrex work on the brain and maybe wouldn't be so rough on it? Any professional literature I can convince them with? — Marcia A. (posted on January 30, 2002)

I was allowed to take my Ultram and Darvacet right up until surgery. I was
told that absolutely positively NO cortizone... something about making the
healing process more difficult. Good luck, maybe if BTC tells you what not
to take, they can help you with what TO take..
