Question:
Has anybody had a problem with hospital not receiving test results?

Hi! I did all of my pre-op testing and my doctor's office faxed it in. Has anybody gotten to the hospital and they say that they never got the test results? I know that I am obsessing but I am the type of person who says "what if" to everything. Should I bring a copy of everything to the hospital just in case? tracy when i reported to the hospital for the surgery they asked me where my pre ops were. well how would i know??? so she asked where & when i had them done. i told her...yesterday in the surgeons office. so she said, oh ok, then ur dr will bring them with him. that was it. but of course, it can never hurt to have the info with u.

If you've got a copy, bring it with you! My pre-op work was done at the hospital where the surgery was done. They lost the blood work, and I had to have it redrawn and the critical testing done while I lay in the operating room!

In 1993 I flew across country to Oregon to have surgery. I left my papers home. (They were my proof of insurance coverage). Well the hospital "said" they did'nt have them. I almost did'nt get the surgery. (In my case I wish I had'nt). ;) Anyway, take papers with you!

YES!!! I just went in for my pre-surgery testing as my surgery date was to be Jan 24. I found out that the sleep study center here in my town did not send the results of my study to the surgeon. I was told by them (sleep center) in October that the results were "good-no apnea". Well, when my surgeon had them re-fax the results, it showed that I had severe sleep apnea and needed to be on a CPAP. So my date is delayed so that I can be on the CPAP at least 6 weeks prior to surgery! I was so hurt and angry-as I was really excited that I had only 20 days to go. Please, get everything in writing and bring copies of everything with you each time you see the doctor. Good Luck!
