Question:
How did you prepare your little one's and home for while you'll be in the hospital?

My 3 yr. old is very rambunctious and I'm afraid if I ask my friends to watch my kids (also have a 17 mo. old) they'll be driven crazy! I dont want my husband feeding them Fruit Loops out of the box, sending them to bed at 11:00 at night without a bath etc. Sounds like I don't have much faith in my husband but all of the above examples of my fear are true from the time I dared leave the house in his care! I know this is silly, but it's what I worry about more than anything! How did you all deal with this?    — Wendy S. (posted on July 20, 2001)

Wendy, Have faith in your husband. Over my 20 year marriage I have left my children (we now have 7) with my husband and they have faired fine. I left him a detailed list of things to do with and for them. In all honesty though, if they missed a bath or had a few too many snacks or even got to bed too late I tried not to stress over it. Lots of luck to you.

Wendy You need to focus on you at this time and less about the house. The kids will have a blast eating froot loops and staying up late (remember Dad is the one that will have to deal with the "crabbies" when they are tired). Please remember the more that keeps their minds off you being gone the better, froot loops, late nights and toys all over the house may just do that.
