Question:
Is any one out there 2yrs or longer post op?

Have you kept the wt off and are there any long term side effects? Anyone regret having the surgery or was it the best decision you ever made? please give pos and neg feedback. I am considering the surgery but are having some doubts and hope the doubts can be pushed out of my mind.    — Karyn D. (posted on April 27, 2001)

I'm 2 years, 2 months, 3 weeks post. My BMI was 42, now it is 21. I wore size 26, now I weigh size 8. Pre-op I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs, now I can run up a flight of stairs. I eat pretty much whatever I want, just small portions and I haven't gained or lost a pound since I reached goal about 10 months ago. I am healthier and happier than I've ever been in my adult life. <p>Is it tough going at first? Yes! I had a lifetime of bad eating habits to break. Is it worth it? Sure is for me! Best of luck to you.

I'm 6.5 yrs out. I am delighted, still weighing 110# or so. My husband has also had surgery, successfully. Yes, I'd do it again. I DID it again, to repair the first surgery. Knowing then, what I know now, I'd make a few changes, but yes, I'd do it again. And again. AS needed.
