Question:
When do most doctors schedule the actual date?
Hi everyone. I know every doctor is different, but I have noticed that many people here have gotten their surgery dates BEFORE their psych & workup testing. Is this normal? I'll be going for my initial appointment soon and am wondering what to expect. Will they set me up for a date then & send me off to have my testing done in the interim or will I have to get all my testing done and when all the results are compiled, then get a date... How did it work for some of you? — [Anonymous] (posted on October 13, 2000)

I got my surgery date about two months ago after I got insurance approval.
My pre-ops are 11/21/00 and my surgery date is 11/29/00.

Hi, a question i can answer from my standpoint. There are so few. I am
going through process with BTC based in ann arbour but will have surgery in
Belvidere IL. I was given a date after my insurence faxed my approval to
then main office. I was given a "penciled in date" when that
arrived and a week and a half later I got the phoned confirmation that my
date was in "ink" so to speak. It truely depends on the dr and
their system for keepign the slots full. If you have an insurence notorious
for denying approval they might make you wait. If you have an insurence
notorious for approval they might give you a "pencil" date that
could be changed to fit the actual approval (moved up or away depending on
the time it takes) good luck!!!
