Question:
Daily Vomiting anyone else after surgery?
Since having the surgery on 7/29 I have had "regular" bouts of vomiting. Sometimes as little as once a day, to several times a day. Nothing comes up other than clear liquid. I have contacted both the Doc and the Nutritionist, they both say this is very common, nothing to worry about. Again ALL FOOD stays down. I have been told that this is mainly due to inflammation of the stomach and now the new exit for bowels. Anyone else have the similar type problem? — Becki M. (posted on August 9, 1999)

I certainly didn't have daily vomiting, but I did experience it about once
a week at first, mine came from accidentally eating too fast or drinking
too soon after eating. I had to learn to slow down and chew well and not
to drink at least a half hour prior to a meal or a minimum of half hour
after a meal. Good Luck!

I only vomited for 24 hours straight about 5th week post op. I had a case
of Sinus or Post Nasal Drip. The yucky clear mucus was filling my tiny
stomach and making me throw up. Ask your doctor for some Phengren liquid.
It taste a little yucky but it WILL help! Good Luck:)

First of all I don't know exactly what kind of surgery you had so my
response is limited.
You may have some reflux esophagitis or you may be be drinking too much
fluid. Ask your
doctor for an acid inhibitor like prilosec or prevacid, it might help.

I had surgery February 17, 1999 and I still vomit about 3 or 4 times a
week. Sometimes it is food and sometimes it isn't. There are times when I
cannot get rid of the sickness unless I lay down and take a nap. I assume
that other people have the same thing and I don't worry about it but it is
difficult to go out and eat and wonder if you are going to sick this time
or not. It isn't even anything I can put my finger on that I eat or do, it
just happens.
