Question:
Beginners' Yoga?
Hello friends. I would like to start doing 20-30 minutes of yoga nightly in addition to my regular exercise routine to reduce stress and to sleep more soundly. Does anyone know of a good yoga tape that is actually do-able for large people? I bought one tape that was cleary marked "for beginners" and I couldn't begin to do the contortion that was on the tape. I don't know what their idea of "beginner" is, but it definitely wasn't made for someone who just recently obtained the ability to tie their own shoes without breaking a sweat. Total Yoga--The Flow series with Tracey Rich and Ganga White. It is a
three part series for three different experience levels. The Earth video
is for beginners and was wonderful for me. It is about an hour long and is
one of the better videos I have used. Becky 10/01

I have the "Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss" by Suzanna
Deason. It is very easy to follow, there are a total of four women on the
tape all doing the same positions in varying degree of difficulty. I am 300
pounds and can manage to do each position to some degree as represented on
the tape. I hope this helps.

Kristy,
When I was pregnant, I used a prenatal yoga tape - it was wonderful! While
I did gain exercise benefits from the poses, the main focus was on
breathing, stretching and focusing. This allowed me to de-stress at the end
of the day and sleep better and stay asleep longer. I did the tape about an
hour before bed - great results! Barbie - waiting for surgery...
