Question:
has anyone had any scheduling problems with North Ottawa Hospital?

i have been waiting for a few weeks now to hear from the scheduling dept. of the hospital and the last i heard was there were some changes being made in the way they are scheduling patients. Please let me know if anyone else has had this same problem and if you have any idea what changes are being made.    — linda E. (posted on October 27, 2002)

My original surgery date was scheduled for Dec 6 at Ottawa with Dr Schram. I recently went there to visit a friend who had the procedure done on Oct 17. She was told that that they were cutting back on the number of procedures. I contacted scheduling and spoke with Debbie, to make sure I was still on for Dec 6. She said that the BC/BS patients were being transfered to Ypsilanti. I am not 100% sure, but I believe it was a problem with BC/BS and the anesthesiologists. I was not supposed to be contacted for a while from Bariatric, but because I called in they scheduled my date right then. My new date is Nov 19 and I still have Dr. Schram. My advise would be to call Bariatric scheduling and be persistent! Good Luck!!!

As the last posting said it right, CALL, CALL, CALL until you have your date. I had mine done there June 18 of this year and at the time they were doing 4 procedures a day 2 days a week, which was probally overloading the floor when unexpected patient complications did occur. Jennifer from BTC was the scheduler at that time and I believe she still is the current person. Good Luckm P.S. Everyone seems to be very happy with the nurse-patient ratio at N.Ottawa in comparison to Yipps Stay there if you can!
