Question:
I am 2 yrs post op and have about 60 lbs to go. I have not lost in month.
also a friend of mine is 3 yrs out and lost all her weight and is not all the sudden hungry all the time and gaining weight back again and very scared. I never want to go back, to where I came from. If you have stretched your pouch is there a way to shrink it again with surgery? There is a lot to this question and I hope to get some positive feed back. Thanks — Rebecca F. Hi. I just wanted to say congratulations on the weight you have lost so
far. I know that some people do have a second surgery to revise their
first surgery. I'm not too familiar with it, but I'm sure your doctor can
tell you more about it. I know a few people who stopped losing weight after
a year or two with more weight to lose. Both of them were able to lose most
of it by increasing their exercise and lifting weights. You might want to
try lifting weights if you haven't done so already. The more musle you
have, the easier it is to burn fat. Good luck.

You might want to pop onto the Grad list. There's other people there who
have had those experiences and learned to kick start the wt loss again. And
have hope. Even if you just hang out & watch for while. Then jump in
when ready.
Grads is for people one or more years out to POST. Anyone can lurk and I
highly recommend it.

In the same boat here ... I will be 2 years post op in November ... weight
loss stalled ... about 90 more to go to "ideal weight". I will
be disappointed if I can't lose any more ... but devastated if I gain it
back. I don't ever want to weigh 350+ again ... way too painful. I will
definitely be checking out the yahoo group Michelle suggested. I am
interested in the other responses to your post. I have considered posting
the same concerns ... but I don't like to get slammed (I KNOW WLS is only a
tool and resent people who assume that I MUST be in some way deficient or
doing some WRONG because my weight loss has stalled short of goal weight).
There are many factors which make it a harder and longer journey for some
of us than for others. I really don't have an answer to your question, but
I hope you feel the support I am offering. You are not alone. I wish you
the best of luck in your continuing journey and hope we all find the
answers we are looking for.
