Question:
Anybody else get heartburn so bad it hurts their ears???
I have such bad heartburn. It happens occasionally after I take my medicine, happens sometimes after I eat. No rhyme or reason as to when it will happen. My ears feel like they are swimming in acid and my heart/chest and back are on fire. Help?? — Karen F. (posted on August 22, 2002)

That does not sound like heartburn. I hope you have contacted your doctor.
I get this when I haven't chewed properly and things get stuck. But don't
wait, insist that your surgeon find the cause.

I am pre-op and I had REALLY bad heartburn. The doctor said I have GERD.
It was terribly painful when it flared up. It didn't matter if I had eaten
or not. Then the doctor gave me a medicine called Protonix and I have not
had heartburn once until I forgot to take my pill. I only did that once.
Good luck and I hope you find out what's wrong.

That is so funny you say that. While I was pregnant with my two children I
had hearburn so bad that it made my jaws hurt. That was the only time in
my life that I had heartburn to that extent, but I can understand what you
are feeling.

Hi Karen -- yup! I've got the same feeling right now. I'm pre-op and I know
the heartburn (GERD's) is flaring up due to my "diet" and stress.
I'm chewing TUMS like crazy!
