Question:
I had my gallbladder removed last Tuesday LAP and have a problem

One of the entry points at the naval has stayed swollen and my abdomen looks like I am about 4 months pregnant. For those of you that had your gallbladder taken out this way, is this normal? I will call the surgeon's office tomorrow if I need to, but today is Sunday and needed some input today.    — Janie C. (posted on July 28, 2002)

I had my gallbladder removed over a yr ago the only problem i had with the place above my belly button it ozed some when i pushed on it had like a small pus pocket i asked dr about it he said it was normal and do not push on it no more so ileft it alone and it went away

I would definately call your surgeon tomarrow just to be on the safe side. One of my LAPs went through my belly button too. It has never been the same. Seems my belly button is smaller (and I might add- smellier) than before. I have to be really careful to keep it clean. I think I had a pretty good infection in it about two weeks ago and I don't know why as I do keep it clean. I just know it's not the same anymore and I have to be really careful.
