Question:
2 Months post op, breaking out like a teen...
Im 23, and NEVER had any skin problems and a pimple was very rare. Now im 2 months post op, 45 down, and I feel like im supposed to be 13 with all these zits!!! They are EVERYWHERE...mostly on my chin, under my breasts, on the side of my torso, my back, my chest, my booty...god they are everywhere. Has anyone had this happen after surgery, and when or how did you get it to clear up? Thanks :-) — hrussinko (posted on July 26, 2002)

It could be that your fat deposits are unloading everything they have been
saving, hormones etc.. Hormones affect acne. Your body is just cleaning
itself out.

I'm also 2 months post op and this is happening to me. My docs say that
some of our hormones like estrogen is stored in our fat so as we lose that
our hormones get out of whack. However, my docs assure me that this is a
temporary condition. I just try to keep my face and body as clean as
possible and stay away from perfumed soaps and body washes.

I had the same problem. It lasted for 2-3 months, until the weight loss
slowed down some. The previous posters that said it has to do with your
hormones are correct. ONce yur body is releasing less of them, it clears
up. Just make sure that you keep your skin clean and dry as possible, that
will help. IF it gets too bad, talk to your primary care doc, they can
order something for you to help.

this happened to me also. bad cystic acne on my face. i noticed a
correlation between me getting b-12 shots and breaking out. i was getting
shots on monday - tues my face would be badly broken out - then somewhat
cleared up by sunday - then the cycle started again. i stopped getting the
shots and now take b-12 subling. and things are better but not perfect. i
had my surgery 5/7/02. good luck.
