Question:
I am schedule to have my hair done on Tuesday, I am getting it highlighted

I was wondering if that was a bad idea because of the thinning??? the new growth is being done not the whole head. I am using nioxin shampo and creamrinse to slow the the hair falling out process and it seems to be working ... anyways I am just wondering if the rest will fall out or not if i do this ???????    — Deanna Wise (posted on May 19, 2002)

I believe that the hair that is destined to fall out will fall out no matter what you do. I highlighted mine when it was still falling out and didn't seem to make a difference. And the highlight made me feel better because I looked better and I wasn't so stressed about the thinning part.

I had the same concerns. My hairdresser assured me that color will not damage the hair but perming will. She was right. I didn't lose any more hair than I expected and it actually looked better and fuller once the gray was dyed out. Good luck.
