I am schedule to have my hair done on Tuesday, I am getting it highlighted

I was wondering if that was a bad idea because of the thinning??? the new growth is being done not the whole head. I am using nioxin shampo and creamrinse to slow the the hair falling out process and it seems to be working ... anyways I am just wondering if the rest will fall out or not if i do this ???????
