Question:
Does anyone have Chronic Insomnia?

i've been approve in may 01, now 6 month later i've been diagnose with:Chronical insomnia... they found that during my sleep study... my latest bloodwork showed a start of cholesterol and diabete. i also need to see a specialist for both of my knees. would it be a good idea to fax all thoses result to my surgeon office ? I DOUBT on the fact that my records will be checked by the surgeon ? my surgery date is not yet confirmed it is suposed to be il april/may 2002 but at this stage i feel like doing anything to get sick and prove them i need it faster ? inputs are welcome    — carou1313 (posted on October 24, 2001)

Hi, just to clarify, chronic insomnia has nothing to do with sleep apnea...they are two totally different things. I certainly would get all current test results over to the surgeon. They need to know everything about you whether it's a co-morbidity or not. Chronic insomnia is not considered a co-morbidity of morbid obesity. I'm sure he'd want to know about the start of high cholesterol and certainly the diabetes. Good luck!

Sleep Apena is hardly a harmless evident. It a virtually stopping of breathing while you are sleeping that can occur several times through of the night as many as 100 times. Left untreated via CPAP machine or surgery...over a long period of time the stress of your heart being denied proper oxygen which increases your chances for stroke or heart attack
