Question:
Having surgery Jan. 9th....want to go on vacation end of summer
I will be about 7 or 8 months post op when i go. (if I go) If everything goes smoothly, would a trip to Bermuda be ok? I'm really wanting to take this vacation but being my first time there, and wanting to have a real good time, would it be wise to go that soon after surgery or should I wait till the summer of 2003? — Kim B. Hey Kim!!--You gotta go for it!! 7 or 8 months post-op is plenty of time
to get that little body in tip-top beach condition. What an incentive to
follow your surgeons orders!! If you don't go -- can I take your place??
Peace and Love be widja mon!!

NO problem, I am nearly 3 months post op., down 80 pounds and ready for a
vacation, only problem is the fear of the national problems.

What a great time you are going to have! I love Bermuda, it is THE favorite
vacation spot for me. You will be fine , and thinner. That is a winning
combination. Enjoy. And stop at the "Swizzle Inn" and "Rum
Runners" have a dark and stormy, they are great!

Kim, I'm 7.5 weeks post-op and just got all my food and activity
restrictions lifted on Thusday. The first thing I did was to check the
school calendar & my hubby's vacation time left to see when we could
get away! Vegas during spring break is looking very good! Thanksgiving
was looking really good, but my son came home all excited about being in a
Lego/Robots competition Dec 1st and that telling us how Thanksgiving break
will be for final testing! Believe me, after all the waiting and stuff for
a date, then the first month of post-op, all during a new school year and
new school for my son, I'm also ready for a vacation! I'm looking forward
to really enjoying myself, and actually having an alcoholic drink----being
on diabetes meds in the past, alcohol was a big no-no! Having been to the
Bahamas and Caribean in the past, I too can say that you will have a great
time! In addition to those rum drinks, find a nice straw market and find a
few nicely colored wraps to go over bathing suits---they are really
affordable there and definately one size fits all! I got one last fall,
(in my size 26 days), for about $10, and then saw the same one in the
department stores here for $40-60!
