Having surgery Jan. 9th....want to go on vacation end of summer

I will be about 7 or 8 months post op when i go. (if I go) If everything goes smoothly, would a trip to Bermuda be ok? I'm really wanting to take this vacation but being my first time there, and wanting to have a real good time, would it be wise to go that soon after surgery or should I wait till the summer of 2003?
