Question:
I want to switch to Humana PPO on my husband policy.
The company I work for has a exclusion in their policy that stats, that this surgery is not cover, even if medically nestasary. My husband's Policy where he works, which is Humana PPO and they cover the surgery. If I'm put on his policy, will they consider it pre-exsisteing? Will there be a waiting period? Please help me!! — [Anonymous] (posted on August 15, 2001)

As long as you have had continuous coverage for the last 12 months, it
should not be considered preexisting but you may want to check with the HR
office at his job.

I used to work for Humana. The previous post is correct. As long as you
have had continuous coverage for the last 12 months you will not be
considered for pre-existing conditions. One thing to remember is that
continuous coverage means no breaks of more than 90 days in coverage. A
little advice: don't cancel your current coverage until your husbands
policy becomes active. Best of luck to you.

I am not sure if it would be considered preexisting.. but I would suggest
you just call them and ask what the time limits are, or when you could get
covered for it. My hubbys work has Humana, and all the people I have
talked to at Humana have been absolutely WONDERFUL.. Totally awesome! They
approved me in 1 week, and even allowed me to switch surgeons, and the
Nurse care coordinator called to go over some post op procedures and make
sure I was ready. Best of luck to you, I think you will be happy with
them!~~Chandra
