Question:
How long do I wait to call Dr office?
I went to the Doctor's Office last month and they submitted my letter for approval to my insurance (Blue Cross Blue-Shield) on June 29, 2001. I still have not heard if I have been approved or not. Should I start calling around to my insurance.. or just sit and be patient? I keep thinking no news is good news (no denial), Please does anyone have any advice? — rinkadinktx (posted on July 16, 2001)

irma...it certainly cant hurt to call the dr office. all they can tell us
is that they havent gotten an answer yet. at that point i would call bc
& ask the status of ur request. maybe if u call & start bugging
them they will get annoyed & answer u

I went to Dr. on June 25th and they sent a letter to BCBS
Alliant select and I heard back on Friday
So I would think it would be any day now
Good Luck..I called dr.today and he scheduled me for surgery on next
Wednesday..Time is flying now!!

Irma, BC/BS conveniently never recieved my doctor's request for surgery
they said. That was after me waiting 2 weeks. At that point I faxed it to
them (after getting it from the doc) and also had the doc's office fax a
copy to a specific person. I then called that person back a few minutes
after sending it, and made sure that they couldn't say they didn't recieve
this one. I was approved 2 days later. Alot of offices convenietly don't
recieve them or...lose them. Call immediately and see if they even say
they got it. Good luck
