How long do I wait to call Dr office?

I went to the Doctor's Office last month and they submitted my letter for approval to my insurance (Blue Cross Blue-Shield) on June 29, 2001. I still have not heard if I have been approved or not. Should I start calling around to my insurance.. or just sit and be patient? I keep thinking no news is good news (no denial), Please does anyone have any advice?
