Question:
Health Partners tells me surgery is not covered under my contract. Advice?

I meet all criteria posted on Health Partners web site, but they tell me the contract they have with my work doesn't allow this surgery. I call the HR people at work and they tell me it's Health Partners who say yes or no. I got referred to a surgeon by my primary physican. Can anyone advise me?    — Lorraine C. Ask them if they are self insured. If they are then it is ultimately on the company you work for. Ask for a summary plan of your benifits and it will tell you in the beginning who makes the decisions. Sounds like they are passing the buck. My company did that to me or tried, until I got a really nice person in the HR dept.and a really nice person at UHC who told me alittle more than she was suppossed to. Keep calling around - you'll get so many answers that the truth will come out.
