Question:
Anyone have ideas on financing my portion of surgery?
Dr Rabkin in San Francisco charges $3,000 above what the insurance will pay. I don't have the cash and I don't have very good credit is anybody familliar with any institution willing to take on bad financing risks? I'm steadily employed and could pay it back within 6 months... — Diane B. (posted on June 12, 2001)

Diane, I think I have an answer for you. American Investment Bank in SLC,
UT, has financing for bad credit risks and for surgeries of this type.
Their number is 1-800-882-4014. Please let us know how it turns out for
you and I wish you the best of luck.

Diane--I got a high risk personal loan for $5,000 through citi financial.
Granted, the interest rate is high, but I am able to make the payments
without much problems. Their website is www.citifinancial.com where you
can apply online or find an office near you. Good luck

Diane - as a fellow Rabkin patient, I feel your pain! Make a committment
today to start a savings account for the surgery. I notice you started
this quest in April, and you say you can afford $500 per month - you could
have already saved $1,500 by now! When I planned my surgery, I immediately
started saving for it; gave up some fun stuff, and postponed my surgery
date 3 months until I saved the money, but it was well worth it. - Kate -
