Question:
Should I be excited or not? Insurance paid all pre-op tests!
I had an all day class, which included surgery consult, bloodwork, chest x-ray, EKG, dietician class, and psych. consult. It was all submitted to insurance before anthing asking for approval for surgery at all. I am so excited! They paid it all. Just wondering if thats a good sign of them approving my surgery. I just can't stand this waiting. — Tanya H. (posted on June 4, 2001)

Hi Tanya, I don't mean to burst your bubbles but paying for pre-op tests
doesn't necessarily mean they'll approve wls. Those tests are obviously
covered services under your policy, so regardless of the reasons for the
tests, the ins co would pay. But don't despair either, you may get your
approval without effort, you may just be pleasantly surprised. I wish you
all the best.
