Question:
CIGNA Healthcare of Jacksonville FL (HMO)- anyone else have it?
I am an employee of a major southeast bank and I'd like to know if anyone else has had the surgery while insured with the CIGNA HMO and how difficult is it to get the approval once the PCP agrees it's medically necessary. I'd like to start gathering whatever documentation and records are necessary to avoid as much frustration as possible to keep the whole experience as positive as possible while I wait for the doctor to figure out that another diet simply isn't the answer. Thanks for all the help I've already received from reading past postings. — Vicky T. (posted on May 3, 2001)

Vicky,
I don't know which Dr. you plan on using, but Dr. Yasrebi in
Jacksonville has seminar's the first Tuesday of every month at Memorial
Hosp. You can learn so much and his assistant Jill can answer all your
insurance questions. My surgery was May 2 and I have PruCare, I got
approved in three days. The Dr's office did all the paperwork. Why don't
you give Jill a call (904)398-8000. I believe Cigna's also another good
insurance co that pays 100%. Good luck. Feel free to email me anytime. Take
Care, Billie
