Question:
The surgeons office said I dont need preapproval from secondary?
I called my surgeons office today to see if they had sent my letter over yet (insurance told me they hadn;t recieved it) and they said that they had just got it dictated and were sending it today. Well, I asked about sending it to my secondary insurance also, and she said it wasnt required to get approval from secondary insurance. Has anyone ever heard this before? — Eva C. I don't know how long ago you posted this, but I can tell you that I was
told the same thing by my doctors office (for a TT) and I followed up on it
and my secondary told me that was not true. They denied me, although I am
working on an appeal. I think that usually it does work that way, but my
secondary insurance company is a Union / Self funded program, so I think
that must make a difference. If I were you, I would call my secondary's
customer service and ask for myself. I wouldn't be left wondering. If you
have already had the surgery, please let me know how it worked out.
