The surgeons office said I dont need preapproval from secondary?

I called my surgeons office today to see if they had sent my letter over yet (insurance told me they hadn;t recieved it) and they said that they had just got it dictated and were sending it today. Well, I asked about sending it to my secondary insurance also, and she said it wasnt required to get approval from secondary insurance. Has anyone ever heard this before?
