Question:
Any liquid recipe ideas for the loooong 8 week liquid diet?
I am a James Weber patient, and he is very strict about being on a liquid diet for eight full weeks. Nothing that you couldn't fit thru a straw. Need blender/recipe ideas to get my protien and nutrients in. Any help out there? — Gretchen G. (posted on May 15, 2000)

Gretchen, I'm 4 1/2 months post-op and have had this since I got out of the
hospital, it is very good: 2 scoops strawberry Problend 55 protein powder
(@ GNC), 10 oz. water, 3/4 c. ice, 5-7 strawberries, 1/2 banana, 1/2
capful(1/8 tsp.) of coconut extract. Blend for 1 minute. It is so good
and it has 55 grams of protein, tons of amino acids and alot of potassium
(from banana). Good luck in your new life:)

I am a Weber patient too and am 3 weeks post op. I have tried all kinds of
things in the blender. I have found that having a glass of Instant
Breakfast with your protein blended with ice in the morning is a great
start to the day. The liquids are getting boring. If you would like to
email me maybe we could talk more.

Gretchen,
Another GNC product I really like is Ultra Pure Protein- found
in the cooler. It is a ready to drink protein suppliment
that I use for my breakfast. It has 35 grams of protein,
no sugar, 1.5 grams of fat, lots of calcium and other
vitamins and minerals and only 4-6 carbs (depending on the flavor).
It comes in Cuppaccino (like having your morning coffee),
Vanilla ice cream, Strawberry, and Chocolate. It costs
around $2.69 for a 12 oz. serving which I sip on for 30-45 minutes
to get it all in. It is the best tasting suppliment I have tried,
and it travels easily if you are out and about. Good Luck!
