Question:
discount in exchange for experimental proceedures
My doctor has, in the past and present, offered/offers a lower fee for the surgery if we consent to an experimental procedure. Has anyone here ever done that? If so, how much of a discount and what was the proceduer? If you haven't...do you think you would be willing to do this? — Kathie S. (posted on September 9, 1999)

I did not mean a experimental proceedure on the surgery it self, I meant
like the use of the boots to keep your blood flowing, medications,
treatment procuduers. Things to make you feel more comfotable. Anyone
done this and what did you try? Or would you try this?

Thanks for the clarification. The boots are pretty normal, I've had them
both my original surgery and the revision and that was 5 years apart. They
help the circulation. Heprin was used with me to thin the blood to help
prevent clots as well, I'm still not crazy about the word
"experimental" I wouldn't want any experimental treatments in
any way. That's just me though.
