Question:
Has anyone had a laproscopic RNY?
I am in the process for being considered for WLS. I will most likely be able to choose between a regular RNY and a laproscopic RNY. Does anyone know of any differences besides the smaller incision site and quicker recovery time? This doctor has been performing RNY laproscopies for almost a year. Any advice? Thank you! — cathy M. I had my RNY done lap and I highly recommend it! There are no scars (now a
year later) and I had no incision, only a few small little
"puncture" like wounds. I was home two days after the procedure
and up and around quickly, even went to the zoo two weeks later, walked all
over. Pain is considerably less also. If you have the option, definitely
go with a lap procedure!

I had the Lap RNY 4-9-99. Much faster recovery, much less pain. I was in
the hospital 2 days and was pain free in 3 weeks. No permanent scars, no
chance of wound separation from poor healing and much much less chance of
wound infection. I went 450 miles to have the lap and could have traveled
35 miles for the open! Good Luck Diane
