Question:
First of all, Thank you all for your advise and support.
I tried your suggestions and the scale is moving again. I also have notied inces even when the scale wasnt moving, once it was mentioned this was possable. I became so attaced to the scale going down, I didnt realise I had lost 2 sizes! I am 5wks post op now, and sill get very tired easily. I still cant put in a full days work with out being exhosted by 2 in the afternoo. I started going to the gym, but I feel very nauses about 15min into even light cardio, and so exhaused I can almost fall asleep in mid work out! Is any one else struggling with any of this? — reagan H. (posted on May 21, 2005)

5 weeks? I still took naps for 6. What is your
eating/supplementing/water/food plan like? The answer may be there or it
may be that you're just not ready to pick up full speed yet.

I did struggle with this last year when I first had my surgery. I think we
are so tired in the beginning because we aren't eating enough to get in all
of our required protein and nutrients. Plus, your body has just been
through some major changes. Of course, I'm no doctor so that's just my
guess. The good news is that it does get better. My advice to you is to be
patient. Do what you can. You may want to push it a little, but don't get
disappointed if you can't accomplish everything you think you should be
able to. It is likely that you will find that every day you can do a little
more than the previous day. You have got the rest of your life to develop
healthy habits. Do your best, but remember, as they say, Rome wasn't built
in a day. Take small, managable steps and you will eventually accomplish
your goal. Best wishes.

I had the same problem early on. You are not eating very much and your
body is healing and trying to adapt. I couldn't do 15 or 20 minutes on the
lowest resistance settings on a stationary bike at first. It was
deprressing. I was nauseaous quite a bit as well. I'm 3 months out now and
do 40 minutes on an eliptical 4 times a week with fairly high resistance
settings. My stamina has increased steadily. Do what you can and hang in
there! Beatrice 216/BMI 36- 164/BMI29 Surgery date 2/16/05

I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow. I am having a terrible time. They say eat
6 small meals a day and I can't even take but a few bites at a time them I
usually puke those back up. Today I had some p-nut butter between two
crackers. I had two of those. That was at about 10:30 then around 3:00
o'clock I had a popcycle. I made me some crystal lite pink lemonaid and
I've been dipping on that. I haven't puked so far today. I just pray that
I don't. I had my surgery 4-25-05 and I am down 30 lbs. I have not been
able to eat the 6 small meals a day yet. I am going to call my doctor in
the morning to see if I can come in to see him cause I just don't think
this is right. Maybe I'm not giving myself time to heal or maybe I'm
eating too fast or drinking to fast or too soon. I don't know but I am
going to find out. I haven't started exercising as of yet, but I do have
stairs in my house. I make lots of trips up and down them so I let that go
right now for my exercise. I have ordered me one of those Tony Little
exercise machines. I forgot what they are called. But hopefully we will
get this thing right soon. Good luck and God bless you.
