Question:
Has anyone ever Had this?
I have been diagnosed with having no iron left in my body after a period for two years straight. I have been on 3 pills a day of iron and they do not show any on my blood work and yes they have checked it more than once. They put my surgery on hold saying I may have a bigger problem that I think.I know about anemia but I never new you could be completly without iron. I am very week but suprisingly still moving around daily. They also mentiond something about maybe my bone marrow wasn't producing natural iron like it should has anyone ever had this problem? I have had to doctors say they can't help my and I might have to go to the hemotologist. This is such a mess.Anyone who may have any information would be really helpfull. Thanks :-) — tory F. Tory,
Sounds like you need to be on the Grads List - if anyone can help you, they
can! Lots of experience from these very well-educated, incredibly
intelligent folks! The link to join:

Hope that helps!

It appears from your profile that you are preop for WLS. You really need
to see a hematologist. you might need some in depth testing to see what is
causing this. it may not be about the iron supplements. Good luck and I
hope all goes well with you!

You need to see a hemotoligist and a gastroenterologist. This could be a
malabsorption problem also. You may benefit from injections or IV iron
supplementation. Be prepared for extensive testing. This is a huge
problem. You want to be in the best condition possible, especially before
surgery.Good luck.

As a PRE-OP, you need to see a hematologist and get this problem looked
into (and hopefully solved) before you can consider surgery. Good luck to
you. I'm glad that the Dr's found out about it and now you can do
something to get back your energy.
