My PCP told me she would write a letter for me to submit to my insurance company to help me get approved for my tt, thigh lift and lipo. She said I should write down what I want her to include in the letter. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should have her write? Any help would be great! Thanks so much! — Tara D. You should first be prepared by knowing that lipo and thigh lifts are very
rarely covered by insurance. (lipo even less so than thigh lifts) Second,
get a copy of your benefits handbook and see what they define as medical
necessity for reconstructive surgery. Your letter must point out why you
meet the insurance guidelines. Your PCP must be ready to state the medical
conditions that will be reversed with the surgery and are have not been
successfully solved with conservative means and to detail the
impact/impairment these conditions have on your daily life. I'm sorry that
I can't be more specific, since each ins co is very different. Good luck
to you.
