Question:
I am scheduled for surgery on April 2 but havent seen the surgeon since Septermber.

I am a bit concerned that it has been so long since I have seen the surgeon. His office staff has been working with me to get the insurance approval and hospital scheduled but it seems strange to me that in a little over a month this man is going to cut me open and I havent seen him in 6 months. I have heard only good things about my surgeon but I am very anxious about not talking to him again before the surgery. His staff has been very nice one minute and almost mean the next when I call. Does anyone have any suggestions?    — Erin C. (posted on February 28, 2004)

Hi Erin, I talked with my surgeon at my consult, and then didn't see or talk to him until right before I went in for surgery. I didn't really think much about it. I just figured he is a very busy man with many patients, and that his staff knew what needed to be done. I really wouldn't worry. Good luck with your up coming surgery. Life is great afterwards!! Thats it! ;o) Actually it's been a year and 2 weeks from the last time I've had any sort of presurgical testing ( My insurance comp denied me 3 days b4 surgery) GRRR! Anyway I went in to speak w/ my surgeon and he was confident that I didn't need anymore testing. OHHH And just so you know a friend of mine was in the same situation (we work together) and she has already had surgery and everything was fine. But if you are worried about it then tell him you'd feel more comfortable having the tests over, Im sure he wouldn't argue. Congrats....feels good to finally get approval doesn't it! ;o)
