Question:
What could this be?
I am 6 and 1/2 months post op and down 100 pounds. Lately I have been getting really sleepy and maybe a tired feeling. When I sit down I am asleep in a few minutes. Everywhere I go it it like this. I am so embarassed when I do this in church! Does anyone know what could be going on. Is something maybe low i my blood? Thank you for your answers. — cindylou56 (posted on February 6, 2004)

I get like that when I am overdue for my B-12 shot. I would get your PCP to
do your blood work to make sure that you are not lacking in anything. You
could easily be anemic or have another simple vitamin deficiency that could
easily be remedied.

I do that when my B-12 gets low also. You need to check your surgeon.....

you could be anemic and/or I found myself doing that if i have eaten too
many carbs or the blood pressure is too low. Have your doc do a complete
blood test.

If you haven't had your physician do a blood workup since your surgery you
need to do so now.
Anemia can occur after having this surgery if you are not getting the right
vitamens.
You may need to be taking B-12 suppliements daily.

Your iron or B-12 levels could be low. I am currently having issues with
mine and require injections.

I was doing/feeling the same way. I needed the B12-injections. I take one a
month now. I feel great!
You also need to make sure your drinking all your protien & taking all
your vitamins. God Bless You, Connie Lee
