Question:
How big is a Subway sandwich?? 1 Cup?
How big would you say a 6" Subway sandwich is approximately? 1 cup, 1 1/2 cups? I ate 3" or a 6" sub and I was wondering if that was too much. I don't feel overly stuffed at all. I actually feel as if I could eat a little bit more... The sub was regular italian bread, seafood and crab, cheese, mayo, mustard, and tomato. — sibarra (posted on January 16, 2004)

Well it mushes down. I'd say it was 1/2 cup but that's just a guess.

I don't know but I can only eat about four bites and I have to take most of
the bread off. It is not worth my time. If I have to eat on the run I go to
Taco Bell and get a Bean burrito and eat half of it.

I am over 2 years out and there is no way I could eat a subway sandwich.
Too much bread...that would kill me.

Sara,
I love subway sandwiches. Usually, I can eat 1/2-3/4 of a 6" and I'm
just right. Sometimes a bit more, sometimes only 1/2. Mine are 'kiddie'
sandwiches tho ~ I'm wierd and don't like them with all the veggies on
them...meat-n-cheese only. I think it's just fine to have a subway
sandwich every once in a while. Listen to your body, you'll know when
you're full. Then save the rest for later! Good thing I like leftovers ~
they're always around! LOL Open RNY 1/3/03 330/180/175

I'm like the previous poster...all I get on mine is meat, cheese and some
pickles. I can eat about 1/2 of a 6" sub, including bread, and then
just eat the meat and cheese off the rest.

I have to agree with Rebecca - the bread would be a killer, and I am nearly
2 years out.
Any Subway sub can be made into a salad. Just a word of warning about their
crab and tuna salad - they have more sugar than a turkey or chicken breast
sandwich or salad.
I called my cousin, a subway manager, and he actually measured for me,
since I was curious! A 6" sub was a little more than 3 cups. And he
makes his "by the books".

I had one of the Subway wraps yesterday. I noticed they put a 1/3 less meat
and cheese on them than on the 6" sub. I had the Italian BMT - salami,
ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato and red wine viniagrette. ( I also noticed
they used less of the viniagrette than on a 6" sub, too.Hey, it's my
"splurge' for the week!) I am over a year out and ate the whole thing.
The wrap is supposed to be low carb, and it has to be a lot less carbs
than regular bread, in addition to being less volume. I had been thinking
about that doggone sandwich all week! There is a Subway in the building
where I work and the smell of that bread baking every morning is a killer!

I just posted about the Subway wrap being lower in carbs and volume. I
decided to go to the Subway site and see how many calories I came up with
an estimate of nearly 400 calories in my "low carb" sandwich!
Yikes! For the original poster - check out many calories were in that
beast. You will be surprised! I think it might be awhile before I have
another one!
