You should call your Doctor's office. You don't want to get dehydrated!!!
Ask your Doc about the Propel or Gatorade. My mother-in-laws Doctor told
her to drink it the first 3 weeks, my doctor said "no" due to the
sodium content.

Hi there. 4 days! That's no fun. I would call my surgeon about this.
THey want to know about major changes in that particular function. A
thought for you- how much SF stuff have you been used to eating in the
past? Some people are awefully sensitive to certain sugar substitutes,
malitol, sucralose, and the ingredient in sweet and low (which I can't
think of at the moment) seem to be ones I've heard of people having
problems with. This can definately cause diarreha. BUT- seriously- call
your doctor about it. And my opinion is Yes, Propel is safe for most
anyone's post op regime- take it slow though- you never know how your tummy
might react. It tastes good and is a nice change from plain H2O once in a
while.

Make sure you are getting ample amounts of liquids (water, broth,
sugar-free drinks etc.) so you won't dehydrate and in the meantime, get to
your doctor if your diarrhea doesn't stop. My doctor told us to try
Immodium-AD for diarrhea, but if it didn't stop, to let them know.

I had the exact same thing and posted this same question. I thought it
would NEVER go away. I took Immodium liquid and drank lots of water and
other liquids and within a few days got my strength back. But it was
rough. I never knew what caused it, it was almost like dumping. Couldn't
leave my bed. I guess it was just a post op complication but it scared me
and my doc said if I didn't rehydrate on my own that I'd have to go back in
the hospital with an IV. I DID rehydrate, as fast as I could make myself
drink.
