Question:
Does anyone know if you can have VA Health benefits in addition to your insurance co?

I have UHC, they're beyond difficult. I'm a veteran, but don't want to lose my PCP switching to VA Health coverage. I do qualify for VA Health benefits. Can anyone tell me if I qualify for VA services while I have another insurance company? Or is it considered its own insurance? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!    — SweetDragonfly (posted on July 21, 2003)

Don't take this as "gospel"but I believe that if you have insurance and also qualify for v.a.--they will do all your health care--and you assign your insurance to the v.a. You can call veterans hospital and they can answer your questions absolutely.I personally wish I were entitled to v.a. because I have watched the wonderful care my husbanD has got for the last 25 years,and I have never seen a private hospt. that could compare! One persons opinion!
