Does anyone know if you can have VA Health benefits in addition to your insurance co?

I have UHC, they're beyond difficult. I'm a veteran, but don't want to lose my PCP switching to VA Health coverage. I do qualify for VA Health benefits. Can anyone tell me if I qualify for VA services while I have another insurance company? Or is it considered its own insurance? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!
