Question:
I am looking for a Nutritionist who accepts Washington state medicaid.
I have to go out of town for the surgery but they do not have an in house nutritionist that takes medicaid am looking for a nutritionist in the seattle, washington or Bremerton vicinity that is experienced with WLS patients. I am required to have a nutrionist evaluation. Please Help. This will be my only hold up from getting my surgery. — Jill G. (posted on June 21, 2003)

Have you tried your community health office and ask them for a list of
nutritionists who take medical? Or maybe even the health & welfare
might have a list? Then call around and ask if they do nutrition evals for
WLS. If that doesn't pan out I'd try asking from this site the VitaLady -
Michelle Curran. ( I hope I spelled that right). She works for a
bariatric surgeon in your area and could probably give you a
recommendation.

I'd check if the hospital where you'll be having surgery has an on-staff
nutritionist. The hospital certainly takes welfare, so if she is their
paid employee, the bill will go to welfare from the hospital itself.
