Question:
can someone tell me what united health care of florida looks for thier approval?
If I dont have surgery before 8/1/03 our insurance is most likely changing to UHC I would like to know what they look for specifically for approval I know it has to be medically neccesary but whaT EXACTLY WOULD I need? Thank you for your help.. — marie M. (posted on June 21, 2003)

Every policy is different, even within the same insurance company you could
have different requirements - the only way to find out is contact your
insurance company directly.

Your surgeon should provide a letter to your insurance company indicating
medical necessity, at least that was all I needed to provide the insurance
company. I wasn't even involved in that. My surgeon handled that whole part
of it. I wish you the best of luck on your journey! I will be 7 weeks post
op on Tuesday, and last night for the first time since I was in my 20's (I
will be 49 in August), I was able to cross my legs. What a thrill!!!!
