Question:
I had a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) 3 months ago and still have swelling....

the swelling is mainly in the afternoons and evenings. My surgeon says I may need some lipo because it's possible my abdominal wall never did "lie down" and attatch itself like it should have. Has anyone else had this happen after a tummy tuck? I really don't want more surgery but I'm tired of having this little "pooch" and looking pregnant!!!    — michelle T. (posted on June 5, 2003)

I had my full abdomnioplasty 11/2002 and I STILL experience some swelling. It is totally normal, and you should expect swelling for up to a year. As for what your doctor said? You may want to get a second opinion about the work that was done. It does not sound, by what you have said, that he knows for sure what it should look like?

Michelle, I had a partial TT done 9/27/02, and have the same thing. In the mornings I have a flat tummy byt night it is pocking out and looks swollen, My docotor said this is normal for up to a year sometimes longer. I have talked with other people that have had this and they all have the same thing. Hopefully this will go away within the near future.
