Question:
How long before you have a DOS(date of surgery)?

I have my letter of approval from my insurance(UHC Select POS). I am going through BTC, they asked me to fax a copy of approval letter, I did, they have it. Now why is it going to take them 2 to 3 weeks to give me a date. At least that is what they told me. How long does it take for the schedulers to get the paper work. I sent mine to them in less then 30 seconds, all I want is a date. Is this a normal time frame, I've been told so many time frames, that I am losing faith, and patients... Help!!!!    — Tamauralee H. I have the exact same insurance as you do and had my surgery through BTC in Texas... My situation wasn't like yours, since it was my medical clearances instead of my insurance approval holding me up. However, once ALL of my paperwork was in scheduling's hot little hands it took a few days. I think it would have taken longer, but I called THEM instead of waiting by the phone for them to call me. I think I waited about 5 days after I knew that they had everything. Called, got a receptionist...I asked to speak with scheduling...the lady asked if I had received insurance and medical approval, I said yes, and she put me right through to the scheduler...who had my all set up within 10 minutes.

I am also having my surgery at BTC, Texas. I was told after I go in for my revisit that the scheduling department will contact me within 10 days. I plan on waiting 5 days, like Amy did, for them to call. If I do not hear from them within 5 days I will be giving them a call to see if I can get my date scheduled. Good luck!!! Hope everything goes quickly for you.
