How long before you have a DOS(date of surgery)?

I have my letter of approval from my insurance(UHC Select POS). I am going through BTC, they asked me to fax a copy of approval letter, I did, they have it. Now why is it going to take them 2 to 3 weeks to give me a date. At least that is what they told me. How long does it take for the schedulers to get the paper work. I sent mine to them in less then 30 seconds, all I want is a date. Is this a normal time frame, I've been told so many time frames, that I am losing faith, and patients... Help!!!!
