Question:
Anyone have any letters to help change the mind of the company's owner ?
I need help in what to say to the owner and vice president of the company where my husband works . The insurance says to talk to the hr dept , and they referred me to make an appointment with v.p. and start there . I hope to convince him to amend the policy exclusion on wls or at least this time . Anyone having done this before and could pass any info on , I would greatly appreciate it . I have a surgeon consult in May , so I need to get busy . thanks ...... — patti G. Why not introduce a post op or two the the people you want to change the
policy. Use folks down over 100 pounds who the loss fixed their health
problems. Ask your surgeon or support group for help. Lets us know how it
comes out! Seeing and talking to examples can really impress folks!

I'm not quite for sure why the insurance company would have you talk to the
HR dept. unless they turned you down. Anyway. Take some information to
the VP (pictures, testimonials, etc.) Give him some personal information
about yourself. Explain to him what a lease on life having this surgery
could mean for not only you but your family (including your husband). Give
him examples of health problems (diabetes, arthritis). I tell you what
clinched it for me was the People Magazine issue in December, 2000 of
Carnie Wilson. The BTC center I went to gave me a video to watch. Get a
copy of it and ask the HR/VP person to view it. That would be the best.
Since your appointment isn't until May, ask the surgeon to provide you with
any information they may have. Explain the issue to the surgeon and ask
the surgeon if you can refer the HR/VP person to talk to the surgeon about
this surgery. Good luck! Go in to the HR/VP extremely prepared. Do your
homework before!
