Question:
Had my endoscopy and they found an ulcer. Does this mean I can't have Lap-Band surg.
I have had a little pain in my upper stomach but nothing serious. My doctor wanted to do an endoscopy and the picture showed I do have an ulcer. Does this mean I won't be a candidate for WLS. Now I'm scared that I won't be able to have it done. He sent me from the hospital with a prescription of Prilosec. I hope someone can tell me what I am up against. Thanks — Pat S. Prilosec is a proton inhibitor and will help it to heal. You should be
fine. Take the med everyday and don't skip!

It just means the ulcer has to be healed before they'll mess around with
you. I also had one just pre-op. (and continuously over the 30 yrs before
that! They just treated it and moved on with surgery. You can remove your
finger from the panic button.
